What began as a humble radio service shop at Aliwal Street by founder Mr. Ong Sean Kee evolved into a pioneering force in luxury home entertainment. In the aftermath of World War II, Mr. Ong Siong Kwee continued the family legacy with little more than a handful of tools, determination, and extraordinary craftsmanship. Working tirelessly through the nights at Baghdad Street, he hand-built amplifiers that reflected Ong Radio’s enduring philosophy: uncompromising quality above all else.

As the golden age of hi-fi emerged in the 1950s, Ong Radio introduced some of the world’s most prestigious audio marques to Singapore, including Leak, Ortofon, Marantz, McIntosh, Bozak, and Stanton.

A defining moment came when Ong Radio chose to specialise in McIntosh Laboratories, a decision that would shape the company’s identity for decades to come. Guided by a belief in mastery over mass-market expansion, Ong Radio focused only on brands that represented the highest standards in engineering, musicality, and longevity.

This philosophy established Ong Radio as a trusted name among discerning audiophiles and luxury homeowners alike.
